Pepsi-Cola Metal Tray 1983 Fabcraft Replication.

The 1909 Pepsi Cola tray that is usually referred to as "Gibson Girl" tray has been remade two times. Once in 1973 and once in 1983. The tray has been called the "Gibson Girl" because the lady in the picture is highly similar to those drawn by Charles Dana Gibson that were used in many advertising campaigns. There is absolutely no evidence that Gibson ever created the picture that was used in this tray. There are a few minor differences to help you distinguish between all of the three metal trays.

The original 1909 tray measures 13 9/16" tall and 11 1/4" wide. The name "Niagra Buffalo" is printed below the Pepsi Cola script near the border. The back side of the tray is Olive Drab color.

The 1973 reproduction was remade for the 75th anniversary of Pepsi Cola. It measures 12 5/16" tall and 10 1/8" wide. The rim is white and the back of the cola tray is black.

The 1983 version is the most common of the three trays. It is 14 1/2 " tall and 11 9/16" wide. The rim and backside of the tray are gold in color. On the back of this one, it does say "Fabcraft Inc. Frenchtown, NJ, Made in USA."
